SBI Interiors is a San Jose-based commercial interior and exterior construction company, founded in 2013 by Eli Melo. What started with one man's hands-on trade skills has grown into a full commercial framing, drywall, and ceiling systems contractor, but the values it was built on haven't changed.

Our Story

Eli Melo was born in Pico, in the Azores, and moved to San Jose, CA at the age of 7. Learning a new language and adjusting to a new country at a young age meant overcoming real adversity early in life — and that same determination carried directly into his career.

Eli got his start as a carpenter tradesman, doing piece work drywalling tract homes. Somewhere in that work, he found more than a paycheck — he found a genuine passion for construction and development. That passion is what turned a tradesman into a business owner, and in 2013, SBI Interiors was born.

A Family-Run Business

More than a decade later, SBI Interiors remains a family operation. Marcus Melo leads estimating, and Matthew Melo runs dispatch and operations, keeping the business hands-on and accountable at every level, from the first bid to the final walkthrough.
